Going up Sani Pass with first generation 2DR Toyota RAV4 - 23 Dec 2012
Our first drive up Sani Pass in Lesotho. We started at Underberg with a slight drizzle but as we were on the last couple of turns, Sani welcomed us with thunder and lighting. It started to pour on us but the car did not slip or slide whatsoever. When we pass 9000m or so, the engine was gasping for air in the last couple of turns, therefore lacking BHP, but it slowly pulled through. We also had a jerrycan full of gasoline (20L) and two 5L jug of water that we were going ditch if we ran out of power. The RAV4 was an automatic and was set to EST-S MANU on L gear all the way up. Maybe I should've used the PWR settings, but we made it. Luckily we made it in time before the hail camel.
