Demonstrating how an electric continuously variable transmission works in a Toyota Prius

Electric Variable Transmissions (eCVTs) are used in many hybrid vehicles, including the Toyota Prius. The benefit to the eCVT is it combines the output of an electric motor and a gasoline engine, and like a standard CVT, provides continuously varied gear ratios. Using the Consulab EM-200-29 hybrid planetary gear trainer, this video demonstrates how this system works in aToyota Prius.
