Dos Latinas, Sarah Lucero and Lorena Monroe, interview April Ancira. April is the VP of Ancira Auto Group and oversees the operations of 11 New Franchised Auto stores. She has San Antonio roots, having attending high school at Saint Mary's Hall, received her Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Finance from Trinity University, and her Masters in Business from UTSA. She has worked in the car business since 1997 in every facet from being an operator and cashier to selling cars and trucks on the front line. She jokingly brags about leaving Ancira one summer to work at Chili’s in the Quarry because it paid her more than her dad did at the time. April has been married to her husband, Jason Thompson, for 13 years whom she met at National Automotive Dealer Academy. April currently serves on 12 active charitable and work related boards and was inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame. April and Jason have 2 children, Hope (😎 and Gunnar (11) and a dog, Gracie. She has a pilot's license, does standup comedy, loves to race 140.6 mile triathlons called Ironmans, and laughs about failing miserably singing the National Anthem at a Missions Game. She is the youngest chairman this year of the Texas Automotive Dealer association (1400 dealers) & chairman of San Antonio dealers association (73 dealers). She spent every single Tuesday in Austin this Spring and is happy this legislative session has somewhat concluded.
