Meet the Owner: John and his 1962 Sabre
John’s Reliant Sabre 4 was a works rally car in the early 60s. 🏁🍾😎 Saved from the wrecker’s yard, it’s been restored, rallied, wrecked, rebuilt and is now gracing club events around the UK and Europe. 📸 One of only four built, this 1962 Sabre competed in the Monte Carlo Rally and the original RAC Rally. It’s a throwback to the age of the “Garagistes” – those brilliant and ambitious engineers working away in independent factories and workshops around the UK to design and develop new racing machines. 🇬🇧 🏎️ Tracing the car’s provenance has also revealed a story that brings together three generations of two families who have raced this beautiful car.
