Toyota MasterAce Becomes a True 4X4 + LC40 Resurrection
Welcome back to USJ 4X4, where we turn underpowered junk into off-road legends. Today, we’ve got two wild builds in the shop—the Toyota MasterAce Surf getting a proper 4X4 conversion and an LC40 build that’s been sitting for years but is about to get a second life. MasterAce Surf Build *Came in with a 2Y engine that couldn’t pull the skin off a rice pudding *Swapped in a 1KZ from a HiAce for real power *Converted the AWD system to proper low & high range 4WD *80mm subframe drop to fit 31-inch tires *Custom side doors so we can run a wider stance without worrying about clearance *560AH lithium battery install, keeping weight low to avoid turning it into a top-heavy mess LC40 Build *Came in already swapped with a 1KZ from an LJ77 Shorty *Coil-sprung suspension conversion because leaf springs belong in the 80s *Full axle rebuild, new suspension, new bushes, seals, bearings—the works *Hadn’t started in four years, but Toyota magic kicked in and she fired up *Rusted to hell underneath while someone slapped filler on top—classic *Full custom shafts, rebuilt mounts, and everything done properly, no shortcuts These builds are just getting started, and they’re only part of what’s in the shop. We’ve got the Range Rover, 60 Series, Classic Mini, Jeep TJ, and a bunch of other projects lined up, so hit that subscribe button if you want to see real builds done right. Got thoughts? Drop them in the comments. No, we’re not doing an LS swap. #USJ4X4 #customlife #DoItOnceDoItRight #Landcruiser #vanLife
