This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2025 Toyota 4Runner hybrid body-on-frame truck.
The 2025 Toyota 4Runner i-Force Max hybrid has a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, it has up to 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. Standard part-time 4WD, available full-time 4WD. You can use regular fuel.
The 2025 Toyota 4Runner hybrid comes standard with the larger 14” touchscreen, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 12.3” digital driver display, wireless charger, 14-speaker JBL sound system with removeable speaker, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, driver seat memory, 8-way power driver and passenger seat with lumbar support, SofTex upholstery a moonroof and hands-free power tailgate. In the US, leather trimmed upholstery is standard.
The 2025 Toyota 4Runner Platinum model adds navy semi-aniline leather seats with stitching, a panoramic view monitor, head-up display, digital display rear view mirror and heated second row seats. The hybrid is only available as a 5-passenger vehicle, there is no option of a third row.
This is not an inexpensive hybrid. In Canada, the 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium starts at $70,419 CAD, Platinum $76,781 CAD, TRD PRO $83,585 CAD and Trailhunter $87,284 CAD.
In the US, you have a few more trims. The 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road $51,990 USD, TRD Off-Road Premium $57,770 USD, Limited $60,200 USD, Platinum $62,860 USD, TRD Pro $66,900 USD and Trailhunter $66,900 USD.
The 2025 Toyota 4Runner Platinum model fuel economy is 10.5L/100 km, 23 MPG city and 9.7L/100 km, 24 MPG highway. The Hybrid can tow 5,800 pounds.
