With rivals like the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf and Skoda Scala, it takes a lot to stand out in the family car class. But the Seat Leon succeeds, fantastically. For starters, a large boot and even more rear passenger space than a Skoda Octavia makes the Leon totally practical, while a very reasonable price tag and an economical yet punchy 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine won’t see you stretched for cash.
