Mercedes 15/70/100s - Mercedes-Benz Type 400K - or Typ 400 This is a rare car that was produced early in the 1920s of the last century. 0:00 Intro 0:45 Mercedes-Benz Type 400 K (Car Origin) 1:29 Mercedes 15/70/100 s (Overview) 2:38 Mercedes-Benz Typ 400 (Production) 2:55 Mercedes-Benz Typ 400 (Upgrade) 3:15 Mercedes-Benz Typ 400 (Overview) 3:21 Mercedes-Benz Typ 400 (Current Price) This car's engine was simply remarkable; it has a spectacular 6-cylinder 3290 cc engine, which has an overhead camshaft, which was a rare feature back in the days. But what was the real highlight of this damsel? it was the switchable supercharger, which was 'copied' from their racing cars. This turned the classic ride into both a beauty and a beast on the road, running at 112 km/h – what a speed that was back then. The supercharger present in this car made it produce up to 100 PS, which is equivalent to 99 BHP, whereas without the supercharger turned on, it could only produce 70 PS, which is equivalent to 69 BHP. Daimler, later on, went on to merge with Benz & Cie in 1926, which gave rise to what we now know as Mercedes Benz, and this classic car was now known as Mercedes-Benz Typ 400.
