timing engine g13b suzuki #G13B #suzuki #vitara There are many Suzuki cars, we will learn about them in other videos, the most important of which are suzuki jimny and suzuki swift, and we will try to fix them The G13B and G16A engines are both 4-cylinder, SOHC engines manufactured by Suzuki. Here are the general steps for setting the timing on these engines: For G13B engine: 1. Remove the timing cover to access the timing belt and timing marks. 2. Rotate the engine by hand until the timing marks on the camshaft and crankshaft gears are aligned. The specific timing marks and their positions will vary by engine model. 3. Check the position of the number one cylinder's piston. It should be at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke. You can use a piston stop tool to hold the piston in place. 4. Loosen the timing belt tensioner and remove the old timing belt. 5. Install a new timing belt, making sure that the timing marks on the camshaft and crankshaft gears are still properly aligned. 6. Tighten the timing belt tensioner to the manufacturer's specified torque settings. 7. Rotate the engine by hand to ensure that the timing belt is properly tensioned and that the timing marks are still aligned. 8. Replace the timing cover. 9. Start the engine and check the timing with a timing light. The timing should be set to the manufacturer's specifications. For G16A engine: 1. Remove the distributor cap and rotor. 2. Rotate the engine by hand until the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley is aligned with the "0" mark on the timing cover. 3. Locate the timing adjustment screw on the distributor housing. Loosen the screw so that the distributor can be rotated. 4. Connect a timing light to the number one spark plug wire and the battery. 5. Start the engine and aim the timing light at the timing marks on the timing cover. 6. Rotate the distributor until the timing marks on the timing cover are aligned with the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley. 7. Tighten the timing adjustment screw to the manufacturer's specified torque settings. 8. Reinstall the distributor cap and rotor. It is important to consult a service manual or a qualified mechanic for specific instructions and torque specifications for your particular vehicle. Any mistakes during the timing setting process can cause serious damage to the engine and other components.
