Next, we have the Samand LX, this car is made by IKCO. It is sort of advertised as the *new* “car of Iran” since it started production as the Paykan was being phased out. It’s got about 100 horses to its name giving it a 0-60 time of about 13.5 seconds. Pretty impressive right ? On the bright side it’s advertised to get about 38mpg. It’s priced at 585 million toman which is about $9,750! Considering the average Iranian salary is $350/mo, that is exxpeeennssiivve. IKCO has a partnership with French Carmakers Peugeot Citroen that allows IKCO to manufacture and assemble several models of vehicles to be sold in Iran and exported internationally. This is the reason that if you go to Iran you will see Peugeots EVERYWHERE!
