The 2017 Nissan GT-R retains its explosive performance, but boasts a number of improvements in the name of comfort and luxury. Powering the 2017 GT-R is a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 rated at 565 hp and 467 lb-ft of torque. It routes power to all four wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic and a high-tech all-wheel drive system. A GT-R NISMO offers more power at 600 hp and 481 lb-ft and features revised suspension tuning and an aero kit to improve track performance. The 2017 GT-R features front airbags as well as side impact and roof-mounted curtain airbags. The GT-R is also fitted with anti-lock brakes. In our most recent test of the GT-R, the sports coupe required 103 feet to stop from 60 to 0 mph, which is among the shortest distances we’ve recorded. The 2017 Nissan GT-R has not been been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and is not available with advanced driver assistance technologies such as forward collision assist and a blind spot monitoring system.
