The Turin Auto Show may no longer rank among the top motor expos in the world. But it's still the biggest in Italy, and one of the country's top design studios will be there with a huge presence this year. The design firm was founded in 1968 by Giorgetto Giugiaro, and today forms part of the Volkswagen Group. Now celebrating its 50th anniversary, Italdesign will be present at the Turin show with an enormous display of 30 cars it's designed over the past half century. And it looks like an exhibition not to be missed. Among the vehicles on display will, of course, be several that it's done for other Italian automakers. So visitors can expect to see the Bizzarrini Manta, Lancia Megagamma, Fiat Panda 4×4 Strip, Lamborghini Calà, Maserati Buran, Alfa Romeo Brera prototype, and Ferrari GG50 all on display. Despite its name, Italdesign hasn't built its entire business designing for Italian automakers alone. Along with them, there'll be the original VW Golf GTI and W12 concept, the BMW M1 and Nazca C2, the Chevrolet Corvette Moray, a special Ford Mustang, the DeLorean DMC12, Aston Martin Twenty Twenty, and the Bugatti 18/3 Chiron and EB 112. And of course there'll be several of Italdesign's own-badged design studies, including the Machimoto, Structura, Capsula, Aztec, Biga, Quaranta, Brivido, GTZero, Zerouno, Duerta, and Pop.Up Next concepts. The exhibition will take place inside the courtyard of Castello del Valentino on the grounds of the same Parco Valentino where the Turin show takes place. The studio has even developed a special app for both Apple and Android to guide visitors through the staggering display.
