Everyone on the internet HATED it. Ferrari buyers are ordering it anyway. Ferrari's first all-electric car — the $640,000 Luce — got roasted online after its Rome unveiling. People compared it to a Honda Accord and a luxury toaster. Even former Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo said they should "at least take the prancing horse off." The reveal even tanked Ferrari's stock as much as 8%. But CEO Benedetto Vigna says orders are rolling in from both old and new customers — with the order book already stretching into late 2027, even though deliveries don't start until October 2026. The car itself is no joke: 1,050 hp from four motors, 800V architecture, ~530 km of range, rear-wheel steering, and active suspension. On paper it might be the most advanced performance EV out there. The catch? In Ferrari world, buying a polarizing new model can secure your spot for those invite-only limited hypercars — so some orders may be collectors playing the long game, not pure love for the car. https://electrek.co/2026/05/28/ferrari-luce-ceo-vigna-orders-despite-backlash/ #ferrari #ferrariluce #ferrariev #electricferrari #luce #ev #supercars #carnews #electriccar #maranello #fridayfastfive
