How powerful is the 2019 BMW R 1250 GS Adventure? Cycle World puts the new BMW adventure on its dyno to find out. BMW's largest adventure motorcycle, the R 1250 GS Adventure, is new for 2019 with a slew of updates and a new 1,254cc twin-cylinder engine with variable camshaft control called Shiftcam. The increase in power from the previous model has been touted by BMW as nothing short of massive, so how massive is it? We rolled the Adventure model of the R 1250 GS onto the Cycle World dyno to measure horsepower and torque numbers. Peak power is 116.4 hp at 7,540 rpm and 92.2 pound-feet of torque at 6,240 rpm. Available in multiple trim levels and three colors (Ice Grey, Kalamata Metallic Matte, or LightWhite/Racing Blue Metallic/Racing Red) the R1250GS Adventure has a manufacturer suggested retail price that starts at $19,945. Adding the commonly ordered Premium package brings pricing to $23,395 before taxes and registration.
