Test Riding the BMW F800R (feat. the S1000R)
Here is a video of my test ride of the BMW F800R. I had the opportunity to ride it for a 40-minute group ride organized by a BMW dealership. It's pretty hard, maybe even impossible, to evaluate comprehensively a motorcycle in such a short time. So, what I am sharing here are just my first impressions. Specifications in brief: - Parallel twin engine, 798 cc, water cooled - 90 hp @ 8,000 rpm, 86 nm @ 5,800 rpm - Bridge-type aluminum frame - 202 kg (444 lb) with all operating consumable liquids - 6-speed gearbox, Brembo brakes with ABS - 790 mm (31.1 in) seat height - 15 l (3.9 US Gal) fuel tank - 10,000 km (6,000 mi) or 12-month maintenance interval - 8,500 euros (in France), VAT included The motorcycle of my test ride had all the available options: - Racing blue metallic matte & black satin gloss paint (50 euros); - Dynamic package (engine spoiler, passenger seat cover, LED blinkers & tail light / 310 euros) - Touring package (center stand, heated grips, accessory socket, luggage rack, side case support, on-board computer / 515 euros) - Safety package (tire pressure monitor, electronic suspension, automatic stability control / 725 euros) - Akrapovič HP Sports slip-on silencer (around 700 euros) Many thanks to the staff of BMW Motorrad Etoile (http://www.bmwmotorradparis.fr) for their warm welcoming.
