It's way to rich on the transition circuit or the mains are coming in too early so there is a stumble off idle, but it will clear out if throttled past it. Revs pretty quick for a 4.5" stroke and that massive flywheel.

One of the most notable aspects of this footage is its focus on the engine itself. Specifically, it highlights the tuning process that has been undertaken to achieve a smoother running engine. The camera pans over the engine block, revealing the massive flywheel that is likely contributing to the revving speed mentioned in the YouTube description. With a 4.5-inch stroke and this substantial flywheel, it's no surprise that the engine revs quickly.

The mention of oil pressure and initial advance settings provides insight into the technical aspects of tuning an engine from this era. The fact that the engine is running at around 750 RPM with 40-45 psi oil pressure suggests a well-maintained machine. However, the stumble off idle due to the transition circuit or early mains coming in highlights areas where further refinement may be needed.

The walkaround style of footage allows viewers to appreciate the car's design and construction. The Daimler V4½ was an unusual vehicle for its time, with a unique engine configuration that set it apart from other cars on the road.
