1960 NSU QUICKLY 2 SPEED MOTOR REBUILD(3) - 07/06/2023
I bought this 1960 NSU Quickly Moped online (November 2022) during an auction. Not being familiar with NSU’s I could not determine why I could not start it without the rear wheel rotating (see my video on starting the moped (#2 1ST RUN). When I removed the magneto side cover I could see parts missing. The final drive gear was wrong plus all the parts for selecting two gears and neutral. I was able to locate all gears and parts for this 2 speed motor and needed chassis parts. The motor was reassembled and I found a cracked top piston ring. I am waiting now for a piston ring and a proper head with a decompression valve. (July 2023)
