2012 Pirelli Ferrari Classic - Brands Hatch - Race 5 from 308GT4 No 46
Another great start and I take two cars into Paddock followed by Nick Cartwright into Cascades running slowly. By lap 2 Richard Allen has caught me but takes some time to get through. On lap 5 Michael Squire is through at Paddock in his 328 only to lose it out of Druids. The car is losing power as the Safety car comes out so I keep the revs low to cool the engine, however at the restart it is clearly down onto just 6 cylinders as Nick easily passes and Jack is immediately challenging. Jack tries the outside at Paddock but It's not enough, however he makes it stick next time through. As Didier makes an easy pass I'm just hoping to finish, but unfortunately we lose power from the front bank, down to only 2 cylinders and have to pull off the track. Nil points. Hope it's a quick fix.
About Ferrari GT4
The Dino 308 GT4 and 208 GT4 (later Ferrari 308 GT4 and 208 GT4) are mid-engined V8 2+2 cars built by Ferrari. The Dino 308 GT4 was introduced in 1973 and supplemented by the 208 GT4 in 1975. The cars were sold with Dino badging (continuing the Dino brand to differentiate non-V12 Ferrari) until May 1976, when they received Ferrari badging. It was the first production Ferrari to feature the rear mid-engined V8 layout that would become the bulk of the company's business in the succeeding decades.
