1943 Willys MB. First drive.
This 1943 Willys Jeep is nearing the end of a rebuild at Matt Savage's workshop in Matlock, UK. Over Easter 2011, it will join its sister Jeep -- a 1943 Ford GP in a Desert Expedition in Egypt, covering about 1200 miles of pure desert driving on many of the routes taken by the Long Range Desert Group in World War 2. Further details at www.tobysavage.co.uk/LRDG. This was the first run with Edward Savage having the first drive, then Matt, then Toby, then back to Matt for a dramatic finish! It went very well and after a few small items are sorted out over the next week will be ready for painting, fitting the correct wheels and new seats.
