Riccardone’s Ferrari 275 GTB receives Mention of Honor in Class C at Villa d'Este

The winner of class C in the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d'Este 2025: The Ferrari 275 GTB/2 Shortnose s/n 07373 of Christopher Stahl („Mr. Steel“). On June 25, 1965, the entrepreneur Alfio Benelli of Florence bought this Ferrari 275 GTB through his local dealer Renato Nocentini for his son, Carlo Benelli, who was a gentleman racer using the pseudonym „Riccardone“. Painted in a very rare (or unique?) shade of metallic green, Verde Bosco metallizzato 106-G-15, the car was raced successfully by Riccardone in numerous hillclimb events between 1965 and 1967, plus in the 1967 1000 Kilometres of Monza. Following the brief ownerships of two further Italian enthusiasts, s/n 07373 was sold via the legendary Tom Meade to C. Fred Brown of Portsmouth, Ohio, the youngest man ever to become a franchised Cadillac dealer. Shortly after her passage over the big pond in 1970 or 1971, s/n 07373 was sold by Brown to Paul N. Thomarios of Akron, Ohio who kept his 275 GTB for more than 40 years (!) in his possession. In 2013, s/n 07373 was sold her to an enthusiast in Lombardy who had the car fully restored to the original specifications by Ferrari Classiche, Bacchelli & Villa and other specialist companies. In early 2018, yourstruly brokered the car to a new home in Germany.
