1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator Please read description, view all documents and pictures. This is a very special Eliminator; special ordered Competition Orange with competition suspension (handling package). 351 4V, FMX Automatic transmission, 3.25 axle ratio, Immersion block heater, courtesy lights, F70x14 raised white letter tires, console, power front disc brakes, power steering, AM radio, tinted windshield, protection group, rallye wheel covers 1 of 3 cars (missing one wheel cover). Incredible amount of documentation, original owners manual, sales brochure, warranty facts book, steel temporary owners card with key block knock offs, 2-warranty plastic owners cards, Ford Warranty document, optional warranty letter from dealer, 2 factory original build sheets, stack of service records from Mercury dealership and Elite Marti Report. Clear Texas title. Very correct original car with exception of sunroof and valve covers. Garage kept and stored with carpet and headliner removed. According to documents and past owner this was a 1-owner well-maintained and respected car up until 5 years ago when it was sold and placed in storage. We purchased the car and with fresh gas, battery and fluids it started right up, engine sounds good (see video), brakes feel good, transmission shifts well. Exhaust was removed 5 years ago when put in storage therefore we had a new system installed. Car is not rust free there is some typical rust at bottom of rear quarters and the doors clearly pictured. This is likely a 1 of 1 car with these options and color it would be a presentable survivor driver car with carpet, headliner and exhaust or a great basis for restoration. The Mercury Cougar is a series of automobiles that was sold by Mercury from 1967 to 2002. The model line is a diverse series of vehicles; though the Cougar nameplate is most commonly associated with two-door coupes, at various stages in its production, the model also was offered as a convertible and a hatchback. During its production as the mid-size Mercury line, the Cougar was also offered as a four-door sedan and five-door station wagon.
