Porsche 911 RSR-19: Flybys & Walkthrough w/ Cooper MacNeil

Porsche 911 RSR-19
Engine Soundyoutube

What do you think of the Porsche 911 RSR? What is your favorite thing about the car? Let me know in the comments below! First and foremost I want to give a HUGE thank you to Cooper and the WeatherTech Racing team for taking the time to walk me through the car before it went out to race. With so many things to discuss on the car, I'm sure I could make an hour-long video if given enough time. I tried to not fanboy out but, this is my favorite car ever produced. EVER! Everything about this car is crazy, especially the SOUND. Oh, the glorious sound of the 4.2 naturally aspirated flat 6. A few things on this Porshe 911 RSR-19. Compared to its predecessor, 95% of this car is brand new. As Cooper said to start the video out, this is a mid-engine 911 and there is no other 911 like it. Porsche found a "grey area" in the rules and argued that the space behind the back seats on the GT3RS (what the RSR is supposed to be based on) is used for the roll cage, therefore they could mount the engine in front of the rear axle. So, in typical Porsche genius fashion, they rotated the 4.2L naturally aspirated boxer engine (the largest boxer engine to ever be on a 911) 180 degrees and created a mid-engine MONSTER. Horsepower ranges from 508hp-513hp depending on air restrictions. It weighs around 2,745lbs and has a 6-speed sequential gearbox and there are plenty of other things we did not get a chance to get to this time around. I am going to link Cooper and the teams instagram down below. As I stated in the video, they will be taking this car to Le Mans next week. Go ahead and follow them so you can keep up with how they are doing. For the 1,000 Subscribers giveaway, all you have to do is follow Carsideration on Instagram (linked below) and of course, subscribe to the channel.
