Well, to find out, we’ve got our hands on several high-performance off-road vehicles, and they’re going to go head-to-head to see which is the quickest! To start off, we’ve got the Octa going up against a Land Rover Defender 110. So let’s check out the stats… The Land Rover Defender 110 is powered by a 5-litre supercharged V8 that produces 525hp and 625Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and it tips the scales at 2,603kg. When it was new, and before it went off sale, it cost around £109,000. Then we come to the Defender Octa. Under the bonnet, you’ll find a BMW 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, and this creates 625hp and 750Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto gearbox, and it weighs in at 2,510kg. As new, the Octa costs from £148,000. It looks like it may be an easy win for the Octa, but will the other high-performance off-roaders we have lined up stand a better chance?
