Wolseley Stationary Engine & Crompton Generator
Hi folks, Having recently fitted some new piston rings in my 1946 Wolseley WD2, it was time to get them bedding in. The engine is a standard rotation 1.5hp at 700rpm model and has been mechanically overhauled. It is driving a c.1920 Crompton DC motor which I converted to run as a generator - their factory build dynamos look identical to the DC motors, at that time known as Continuous Current. The neon sign is thought to have come from Abingdon in the 50's/60's and is for Wolseley motor cars, but still a nice thing to have on the shed wall. Apologies for the wind noise, the weather turned as soon as the camera was switched on....
