Rebuilding this classic 1965 BMW R27 drivetrain for @intercontinentalcruiser Ward and Annie was a true pleasure. Single-cylinder engines are often overshadowed by the beastly twin-cylinder engines on the /2 BMW motorcycles, but working on this drivetrain gave me a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and engineering involved. The intricacies of an almost 60-year-old engine are a work of art. Its simplistic external appearance conceals a complex internal assembly.
