【About BAW】 Founded in 1951, BAW is the second large automobile manufacturing enterprise in the People's Republic of China. In the early 1960s, when the relationship between China and the Soviet Union was cold, BAW undertook the task of developing military vehicles, imitating the BJ 212 on the basis of GAZ-69, and began production in 1965. Although the appearance of the BJ 212 refers to the American military vehicle Willis, which is the predecessor of Jeep, but in terms of mechanical structure, the BJ 212 has nothing to do with Willis at all. This was also one of the few off-road vehicles in the world that did not refer to the mechanical structure of Willis. In 2014, Lufu Group, a private enterprise producing low-speed electric vehicles in Shandong, obtained the qualification to produce automobiles by acquiring the old state-owned company BAW. At present, the company has four production bases in Qingdao, Dezhou, Linyi and Huanghua and a branch in Beijing, with an annual production capacity of 450,000 vehicles and 5,000 employees. link to BAW (Simplified Chinese) http://www.baw.com.cn #BAW #yuanbao #ev #newcars #electriccars #electriccars2022 #electriccarschina #willis #jeep #chinesecars #tesla #catl #lithiumbattery
