New AMG SL 55 v Porsche 911 GTS v BMW M850i v Jag F-Type R: DRAG RACE

We’ve finally got our hands on the new Mercedes-AMG SL 55, so of course, we had to take it for a drag race! We’ve got Mat lining up in the AMG, and alongside him, we have Yianni in a Porsche 911 GTS. Oh, and there's also a BMW M850i and a Jaguar F-Type R lining up for good measure! So let’s see how this set of convertibles compares. Starting with the AMG, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that’s good for 476hp and 700Nm. It’s equipped with four-wheel-drive, tips the scales at 1,950kg, and costs an eye-watering £147,000! The Porsche is the lightest car in the line-up, weighing in at 1,615kg. It’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo flat-six that can deliver 480hp and 570Nm, but it may have a potentially significant disadvantage… It’s only equipped with RWD! Next up we have the BMW, with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can put down 530hp and 750Nm. It may have 4WD, but it’s also the heaviest car here, tipping the scales at 2,125kg! Then finally we have the Jag. With an awesome 5-litre Supercharged V8 under the bonnet, it can deliver 575hp and 700Nm. It’s also packing 4WD and weighs in at 1790kg. So how will this play out?
