1923 McLaughlin Buick first time running, left side
Took us a long time to get the engine unfrozen and running, almost an entire winter and summer. This was it's first start in 20 years. The smoke and blow-by was from the oil in the cylinders, rich fuel mixture, and the exhaust flapper in the closed position. Normally, it has a cover over the valve train that is there to keep out dust. The valve rockers are manually oiled, have to do it at start up and every 20 or so miles.
