First came the rain, then came the hail. As the tail end of Hurricane Hugo swept through upstate New York, the only qualifying session of the weekend left the IMSA GTO / GTU competitors little choice but to brave the elements. First out were the GTO competitors, led by no less of a _regenmeister_ than Hans Stuck in his turbocharged Audi Quattro. Visibly faster than the rest of his competitors, Stuck turned a time more than 2-seconds faster than his teammate Hurley Haywood, and 1.88 seconds quicker than an inspired Pete Halsmer in his turbocharged Mercury Cougar.
