🛠What is the difference between W116 and W126?
W116 has more chrome, W126 has more plastic, but neither feels cheap. W126 is from the Sacco-era, which many argue is peak Mercedes-Benz. Sacco was a virtuoso stylist, and his cars all look stunning in the metal. Mercedes-Benz from this era are like kids - you can't choose one over the other.
▷The W116 became the first production car to use an electronic four-wheel multi-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) from Bosch as an option from 1978 on. Production totaled 473,035 units. The W116 was succeeded by the W126 S-Class in 1979.
✅Where was the original BMW factory?
BMW production cars were built at the Eisenach Plant until 1941. Now, for the first time, BMW cars are built in Munich. The first model built here, the BMW 501, is basically an evolution of the pre-war BMW 326.
