Fixing Up An Old Ford

1960s1961Engine Soundyoutube

Part 2: https://youtu.be/qWF0vBQHWBk This is a 1961 Ford Falcon, it belongs to a good friend of mine. Unfortunately, the car's turned into a bit of a basket-case project pushed to the side. It's always been a paint-job in progress deal, but my friend would putt it around in the meantime with the muffler rusted off and moreover, the exhaust manifold barely hanging onto the cylinder head. The video doesn't do it justice as to how loud and obnoxious this things was. Bodywork aside, I've always wanted to fix the exhaust. So, I asked my friend if I could borrow the car and do some repairs. The exhaust was the bulk of the video, I knew it would involve a lot of broken bolts, It took me quite a while and I didn't get to as much as I wanted to. If this video does well, I'd love to do some more work on it, maybe eventually, even a paint job. If anyone is wondering why I didn't/did do certain things, like install a smashed muffler or left the damaged flange on the cylinder head alone, it’s because this was a "good enough for who it's for and what they're paying"($0) job, like many of my projects. Chapters: 00:00 - Intro 02:04 - Removing the exhaust manifold (Damaged and leaking) 05:28 - Pulling a replacement exhaust manifold 07:10 - Removing the leaking carburetor (before I weld) 08:08 - Extracting broken bolts 16:59 - Installing the replacement exhaust manifold 23:39 - Replacing the rusted muffler/exhaust pipe 29:02 - Finalizing the exhaust 30:53 - Brake adjustment (Pulls to the left) 36:11 - Carburetor adjustments and eliminating its gas leak 39:48 - Revisiting the brake adjustment 40:43 - Fixing the fuel gauge 45:51 - Cleaning the interior 49:32 - Final drive 50:39 - Cat.
