Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus Reveals SCG003S

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) has revealed new images of its upcoming SCG003S, which will debut at next year’s Geneva Motor Show. The ‘S’ in its name stands for “Stradale,” meaning street, which is pretty apt considering this is the road-going version of its SCG003C race car. The SCG003 project is aimed at building both a Nurburgring 24 Hours-winning race car, as well as a road car based off the same platform. What you’re looking at here is the latter. If the company’s name sounds familiar, that is because it is the brainchild of American James Glickenhaus, a movie producer who had his Ferrari Enzo restyled into the P4/5 by Pininfarina. The man has since created a racing version of his bespoke Ferrari – the P4/5 Competizione – followed by his own race car – the SCG003C, which was launched in 2015 at Geneva. Like the racing machine, the SCG003S is based around a carbon-fibre monocoque, but unlike the competition model, the Honda 3.5 litre twin-turbocharged V6 (530 hp/700 Nm) is replaced with a 4.4 litre twin-turbo unit which is said to be one of BMW’s V8s. The mill is rated at 750 hp and 800 Nm of torque, with power being sent through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. In terms of performance, SCG claims the car will make the 0-100 km/h sprint in less than three seconds, and will hit a top speed in excess of 349 km/h. Furthermore, the SCG003S is being touted as the fastest cornering car in the world, capable of generating up to 2G of cornering force, the same as the Koenigsegg One:1, thanks to advanced aerodynamic downforce aids derived from its racing background. The SCG003S will be built by a company called Manifattura Automobili Torino in Italy, which was responsible for some of Glickenhaus’ bespoke creations.
