Ferrari 250 GTO s/n 4153GT class G winner in Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2023

The Ferrari 250 GTO s/n 4153GT was sold new to Jacques Swaters' legendary Ecurie Francorchamps in Belgium. The team of Pierre Dumay and Leon Dernier drove the car to 4th OA and 2nd in the 3000 ccm GT class in the 1963 24 Hours of Le Mans. The following owner, the French privateer Marquis Philippe de Montaigu, entered the car in the 1964 Tour de France Automobile with Lucien Bianchi and Georges Berger at the wheel; this pairing proved as well chosen since they took the overall win and the win in the 3000 ccm GT class in this legendary French long distance road race. Following various owners in Spain, Switzerland and Germany, s/n 4153GT was sold in 2018 to David MacNeil in the USA who commissioned the second ground-up restoration on this car which was done with a great focus on originality. In the 2023 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, this attention to detail was awarded with the win of class G, named „A Century of the 24 Hours of Le Mans - Heroes of the most famous Race in the World“.
