1968 Ford Country Squire Wagon, SOLD

Ford Country Squire
1960s1968youtube

This 1968 Ford Country Squire wagon was special-ordered by its original owner from Goode Motor Inc of Rupert, ID and processed through the Salt Lake City DSO. The original owner reportedly wrote then–Ford executive Lee Iacocca requesting the car be ordered with a Q-code 428ci V8, C6 automatic transmission, and black vinyl bench seat. We purchased this car from the original owner, who cared for it for the last 50+ years. This Country Squire is now offered with a Deluxe Marti report, copies of the build sheet, and a clean Idaho title. Per the included Deluxe Marti report and Build Sheet, this Country Squire came from the factory with a beautiful Royal Maroon Paint (Ford #3059-A) on the exterior. The interior is finished in Black Vinyl. Other features include dual headlights, a deluxe luggage rack, and 428 badging along the front fenders. The car’s finish exhibits fading, and areas of corrosion are present around the lower quarter panels, the condition of which is further shown in the photo gallery. Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit odometer shows just under 24k miles and is believed to have rolled over. The power tailgate window still raises and lowers, which is unheard of on these. This is operated by the key being interested in the rear Magic Doorgate. The cargo area is accessed via the Magic Doorgate, which drops down as a tailgate or opens out like a door. A large storage area is also located under the rear compartment floor. The Q-code 428ci V8 sounds healthy and delivers an incredible amount of power. The transmission is the C6 Select Shift Automatic, delivering power to a 3.25 conventional rear axle. The car effortlessly cruises down the road, and the Power Steering only adds to that effortless feeling. The power disc brakes also stop this wagon on a dime. About Ford Country Squire

The Ford Country Squire is a series of full-size station wagons that were assembled by American automaker Ford. Positioned as the top-level station wagon of the Ford division, the Country Squire was distinguished by woodgrain bodyside trim. From 1950 through the 1991 model years, eight generations of the Country Squire were produced. Following the discontinuation of Edsel Bermuda, Mercury marketed the Mercury Colony Park as a divisional counterpart of the Country Squire, sharing bodywork and tri...
