We love clunky old shifters - presenting a 1931 BMW R11
This is a very rare 1931 (pre-war) BMW R11. It wasn't running when it was brought to us (and probably had not for a long time). This motorcycle was one of the first designed with a pressed steel frame. It has a manual transmission with a right side driveshaft. (You can see him shift it in the video -- gotta love that clunking sound). Nice to have these old timers back to life. Check us out at: www.classic-motorcycles.com
About BMW R11
The BMW R 11 was the first touring motorcycle in the 750cc class manufactured by the German motorcycle manufacturer BMW with a pressed-steel frame in duplex form, in the vein of the Neander motorcycle of Ernst Neumann-Neander. 7,500 R 11 motorcycles were produced between 1930 and 1934.
