1962 Morris Minor 0 - 60 mph (948cc Stock)
On the way to school this morning, I decided to see how fast the Morris Minor was. (Acceleration Test) The original advertisement claims the 948cc Morris Minor will do 0-60 in 28 seconds. In reality, with my old worn 1962 Morris Minor (Unrestored 948cc), 0 - 60 mph was 41 seconds, with a slight downhill... I was really pushing it. It is bare bone stock, standard points ignition set, S.U carburettor, clean air filter, timing and mixture set, tappets set etc... I don't go 60mph in it very much (bit sketchy), steering wheel was shaking a bit at 60mph, 50mph OK. Perhaps suspension worn - Trunions or dampers? Or needs a wheel alignment? Steering wheel shakes when I hit the brakes above 40mph as well. Please let me know if you might know anything.
