The F23A1 is an inline four cylinder engine used in the American 6th generation Honda Accord which includes the model years 1998-2002. The platform utilizes a single overhead cam, Honda's Vtec variable exhaust valve timing system and is rated at 150 crank horsepower. I perform the rebuild in my garage with common hand tools and by myself to show that anybody willing to get a little dirty can too! There is an elegance to Honda's simplicity in engineering. There are many ways to "skin the cat" and these are the methods that I use. Any criticisms or alternate methods posted in the comments are welcome, just keep it civil.
