1926 / 34 Salmson French Vintage Racing Car at Ludlow Castle Marches Transport Festival 2015
First outing with the latest project, a 1926 / 34 Salmson Twin Cam 1500cc French Racing Car! A successful day at the Marches Festival of Transport, with road run from Leominster to show held in the historic grounds of Ludlow Castle. Very pleased to see Boycie was present to award the prizes, but where was Marlene? Note the mistake on the award certificate - cars weren't suddenly invented in 1930, and the war didn't end in 1948 - ah well - a hangover from when there used to be a separate Vintage (up to 1930) award I suspect, but pleased my car wasn't ruled too old for those 'Pre War' dates! (chassis is 1926, although under the 'youngest component rule the car could be considered 1934, since had an engine enlargement from 1100 to 1500cc in the form of its mighty S4C power unit!). Next stop, a race track!
