GMT800 - Best GM Truck/SUV Platform Ever?!
I love the GMT800.... I'd drive one over any new GM Truck/SUV sold today. Am I crazy?! This is a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban LT 2500. It has a 6.0 liter LQ4 LS V8, 4L80E, Torsion Bar IFS, Hydroboost Brakes, 12 bolt rear. They can tow over 10k lbs, have 3k payload, seat 7-9 people and have all the modern things you want. Cruise control, adjustable climate control, keyless entry, heated seats, memory seats, cupholders, AC in roof vents, power outlets everywhere ...but none of the modern stuff that you don't want. No displacement on demand, no AFM, no touch screens, no subscriptions. Just a solid driving, comfortable V8 SUV capable of doing anything you need it to do. What the hell happened to modern vehicles? Does a new Suburban actually do anything better than this? A new ones faster 0-60? What else? I don't think the GMT800 is going to remain cheap for long, they creep up in price every year and I fully understand why. I suggest you get one before they are all priced to the moon. Get a 1500 and budget for a trans or find a 2500 if you need the capacity.
