Turn on English Subtitles. Five years—from the first sketch to the finished car. How was Russia's number one car created? And why was it necessary to create a special car for the president? The fact is, according to an unspoken rule, heads of state should drive luxury cars produced in their own country. But after the collapse of the USSR, the country's auto industry was in decline. And a car for the head of state had to meet too many specific requirements, such as an armored body, special communications systems, and bulletproof glass. So how difficult was this task? And what was the final result of the Aurus limousine? This film was originally produced and released in 2021. While some political figures and global contexts have shifted since then, the technical engineering insights and the story of the Aurus's development remain a definitive record of this industrial milestone.

About Limousine

A limousine, or limo for short, is a large, chauffeur-driven luxury vehicle with a partition between the driver compartment and the passenger compartment which can be operated mechanically by hand or by a button electronically. A luxury sedan with a very long wheelbase and driven by a professional driver is called a stretch limousine.
