Avions Voisin, First start after rebuild @ Auto Restorations Ltd NZ

The first start of the engine for the Avions Voisin C11 that is currently being restored in our workshop. This is a 1927, 2.3 litre, 6 cylinder, Sleeve valve engine. The last time this engine was running was around 60 years ago. Its suffered extensive damage when a past owner tried to tow start the vehicle when it had a seized sleeve. Our Engineering shop made several engine parts from scratch, full set of cast sleeve's, junk heads, slipper pads for pistons, complete top coolant jacket housing and coolant outlet and many other items. This engine has a thermosyphon cooling system so there is no water pump to circulate the coolant - the coolant jacket is full of water on this test run which gives us time to run up to operating temperature. #firststart, #avionsviosin, #autorestoration, #carrestoration, #vintagecars, #classiccars, #Classic
