It is known for its striking good looks and exhilarating performance. Designed by Campbell Bolwell, this iconic fibreglass kit car is fitted with genuine Holden mechanical components. This lightweight version combines a 202cid 6-cylinder, triple carburetted engine and a four-speed manual transmission, allowing it to reach speeds up to 200km/hour. Overall, this example of a Bolwell Mark VII drives and handles very well. After being fully restored, this car was upgraded with flattering modern-day wheels and high-back sports seats. This car has been well preserved and cared for. It includes a range of records including repair, upgrade receipts plus instruction manual. One of just 400 built over a six-year period from 1967 to 1972 by Campbell Bolwell in Melbourne. The lightweight Mark VII quickly caught the imagination of car enthusiasts and was predominantly sold as a kit car complete with all mechanical components including a Bolwell-designed suspension system. Campbell Bolwell’s use of Holden mechanical components was based on the premise that customers could take their Bolwell to any one of many Holden dealerships around the country for service and parts.
