A brand new factory, a technical partner in Nissan, and in 1998 the first Samsung SM5 rolled off the assembly line.... just in time for the Asian Financial crisis and the worst sales year in Korean history! Losing money, they scrambled and found a buyer in Renault, and surprisingly the company is still in business today!
