This C209 model, to me, is the first true Mercedes-Benz musclecar, in the sense of being a 2-door, V8 powered, long hood and short tailed body. A German Camaro or Chevelle? I think so. Yes, Mercedes-Benz has always had some special and powerful cars, but virtually all were sedans.
