The wraps have finally been ripped off the Porsche 963, the German manufacturers LMDh prototype that will be racing in the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship GTP class and the WEC (World Endurance Championship) Hypercar class from 2023 onwards. Details surrounding the Team Penske factory effort were recently revealed at the Goodwood Festival of speed including the drivers that will be taking the helm of Porsche's new racing car as well as the new livery. In the following days, customer entries from JDC Miller Motorsports and JOTA were also announced. However, many questions still remain. The full driver roster is yet to be completed and more customer entries are yet to be announced. Could WRT be running a 963? Could F1 driver, Nico Hulkenberg even make his return to sportscar racing? All will be revealed. The Porsche 963 (Type 9R0) is an LMDh sports prototype racing car designed by Porsche and built by Multimatic, to compete in the Hypercar and GTP (Grand Touring Prototype) classes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA SportsCar Championship, respectively.
