VF1000F carbs install on a VF1000R

Running VF1000F carbs on a VF1000R. Fire up well and the VF1000R is accepting the transplant. Kept the 150/145 main jets on the VF1000F carbs. The VF1000R ran the 122 main jets. So far the responsiveness from the VF1000F carbs is outstanding. Feels to rev up very strong. Have to take it out for a road test but the way the bike reacts to the new carbs I don't think I will be making any jet changes. Next is the jet kit. Update: road test was not as great as I expected. Power down. Update: Replace diaphragms off VF1000R and install into the VF1000F carbs. Went in perfectly. Slip right in the F carbs. Clip move to 3 grove on the needles. Mixture adjusted to 3 out on each carb. Update:The machine is a monster now. All power restored and then some. Next I will be installing the main jets off the jet kit, which will wrap this puppy up. It is truly an oldschool rocket ship now. Update: Installed the 150 main jets off the Dynojet kit. It ran really strong in the higher rpm, but had a slight hesitation in the lower rpm at WOT. Ordering a couple of 145 honda main jets and will install 145's main jets on each carb. I believe that will be the ticket. Will see on the next test run.
