The 1st generation of Monaro, the HK, borrowed heavily from the current GM cars of the time, the Camaro, Corvair and Nova. Holden were intent on using their in-house developed V8, but delays in its development, meant Holden decided to use the readily available Chevy 327ci (5.4L) V8 instead. This gave GTS 327 a handy 250hp deployed through a 4-speed manual transmission. It worked very well, well enough to give Norm Beechy victory in the 1969 Australian Touring Car Championship. Back to Forza, and the Monaro GTS was really nice. Handled well and made all the right V8 noises. The engine felt a little reluctant, so an engine swap or some turbos might give it the extra oomph to mix it with the bigger period American Muscle Cars. The Honda RA300 was a Formula One racing car produced by Honda Racing, and introduced towards the end of the 1967 Formula One season. It retained the same V12 engine as the preceding RA273 car, but the chassis was designed by Lola's Eric Broadley thanks to Honda driver John Surtees' experiences driving a Lola T70 in the Can-Am championship.
