Building a Bespoke BMW 340 from the Ground Up
We're starting a new project to build a BMW 340 from the ground up. I've already disassembled the car and plan to refurbish all the parts, including the frame. I'll be using a multi-link rear suspension setup and sourcing the front end from a Volga 105 model for better ball joints and disc brakes. The original mono-spring setup was cool, but I'm going for a more modern system. The engine will either be the original inline-six or an '82 BMW M20, whichever is the better option. The BMW 340, subsequently rebadged as the EMW 340, is a large six-cylinder four-door passenger saloon produced at Eisenach initially in the name of BMW.
