Toyota has officially started building the all new 6th generation Toyota RAV4, and this time the story begins in Canada. This major production shift reveals just how important the RAV4 has become to Toyota’s future strategy. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada has launched full production of the latest RAV4 at its Cambridge and Woodstock plants, backed by more than $1.1 billion in new investment. With decades of experience producing electrified vehicles like the RAV4 Hybrid, Lexus NX Hybrid, and Lexus RX Hybrid, the Canadian facilities were selected to handle one of Toyota’s most important models for North America. The move reinforces Toyota’s long term commitment to Canada, its workforce, and high quality vehicle manufacturing. With over 4 million RAV4 units already produced since 2009, TMMC continues to play a critical role in Toyota’s global success. The company assembled more than 535,000 vehicles in 2025 and is approaching the historic milestone of its 12 millionth vehicle built in Canada. Consistent recognition as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and the most awarded automotive plant in the world highlights why Toyota continues to place its trust here.
