I LOVE driving the Toyota Crown but here's why it's a TOUGH sell.

If it existed in a vacuum it would be incredible...but it doesn't and it's awkwardly sandwiched between the Camry and Lexus ES. With its bold and dynamic design, the 2026 Toyota Crown provides a unique offering by blending elements that are typically found with both sedans and crossover SUVs, like with its coupe-like roofline and its higher ride height. The Crown offers advanced technology and is efficient yet powerful with its two distinct hybrid powertrain options: Toyota Hybrid System (THS) and the Hybrid MAX. For 2026, the Toyota Crown is available in four different grades: XLE, Limited, Nightshade and Platinum. Exclusively available in All-Wheel Drive, customers can choose between THS and Hybrid MAX, which is available only on the Platinum grade. Hybrid MAX is Toyota’s performance hybrid that has 340 net combined horsepower and a net 400 lb-ft. of torque. The system pairs front and rear electric motors with a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine and direct-shift 6-speed automatic transmission. Hybrid MAX produces powerful torque at low RPM for sporty, exhilarating driving and has an EPA-estimated 30 MPG combined city/highway fuel economy rating. The XLE, Limited and Nightshade grades are equipped with THS that pairs front and rear electric motors with a 2.5-liter engine. This highly efficient hybrid system has an EPA-estimated 41 MPG combined city/highway rating.
